Full of romance and mystique Loch Lomond has inspired poets and songwriters throughout the centuries. Nowhere is the captivating contrast between Highland & Lowland Scotland more beautifully manifested than in the Trossachs. These are ‘the Highlands in Miniature’ - yet the dividing Highland line is on the doorstep. The outline of the Trossachs hills rising above the lowland plain like natures high rise skyline. The Highlands of Scotland are one of the last wildernesses in Europe - through the soaring beauty of Glencoe to the idyllic charm of the isles, and from the crashing waves of the coastline to the silence of the windswept moors. Loch Katrine has drawn tourists for hundreds of years, ever since Sir Walter Scott’s vivid descriptions inspired a generation of Victorian tourists to visit the loch to see the landscape for themselves. Experience them all on this scenic three day break!

SATURDAY (DAY 2) – This morning following breakfast, we head for Crainlarich Railway Station to join the mid-morning Scotrail service to Mallaig to enjoy a journey on the spectacular West Highland Line. Take the West Highland Line to Mallaig to travel the Glenfinnan Viaduct – used in the Harry Potter films for the Hogwarts Express. Look out of the window - You’ll travel through a daunting landscape of mountains, steep-sided lochs, and heather moors. Keep an eye out for red deer, silhouetted on a skyline or half-hidden in the heather.
There’s a lot more to it than that, though. This is a side of Scotland you can only see from the train – a Great Scenic Rail Journey that carries you north high up to Rannoch Moor, through remote wilderness, and on to Fort William then along the west coast to Mallaig.
We arrive in Mallaig this afternoon and allow some time at leisure for lunch before rejoining your luxury tour coach for a scenic drive through spectacular Glencoe as we return to our hotel.
This evening, we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant with time to relax and unwind. Included Meals – Breakfast, Dinner
SUNDAY (DAY 3) – This morning following breakfast, we bid farewell to the Dunblane Hydro hotel as we head for Tarbet on the shores of Loch Lomond. Full of romance and mystique Loch lomond has inspired poets and songwriters throughout the centuries. This morning we enjoy a 90 minute cruise on this most majestic of lochs during which morning coffee accompanied by Scottish shortbread will be served whilst savouring spectacular scenery. For lunch we take you to the village of Luss. With its prim, identical sandstone and slate cottages garlanded in rambling roses, and its narrow sandy, pebbly strand, the village became the setting for the successful TV soap High Road which undoubtedly contributed to its popularity during the 1980s and 1990s. For anyone wanting to escape the crowds, the 19th century parish church offers a haven of peace and has a lovely ceiling made from Scots pine rafters and some beautiful Victorian stained-glass windows. Here in Luss we enjoy some free time for lunch.
Sadly, after lunch it is time to bid Scotland a fond farewell as we take the memories of this spectacular scenic three-day break home with us. We arrive back at your original departure point this evening. Included Meals - Breakfast, Morning Coffee
